The nanny diaries : a novel by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus.

Satirical take on rich New Yorkers who hire caregivers to be substitute parents. An NYU student majoring in child development opts for a part-time nanny
job to pay her rent and winds up with more family involvement than she anticipated. Some strong language. Bestseller. 2002.
I thought this was going to be a light, funny read. It started out that way but then turned rather serious. It made me stop and think about several issues like, workingMoms, the change in the American family and other topics. Not to say that this book is a typical view of the American family, I guess it just made me stop and think about my own role as a Mom in today's busy lifestyle.
